The Immortal's Cemetery
Hi everyone,
I started playing the Horizon modpack, and as I pretty much always do, I started playing in creative, just to check out the items I got available, and, well - I was checking the items and mods out, but I soon as I go to the forth page of the creative menu, it crashes my game. It did this every single time I tried playing, at least five times in a row. Am I the only one having that problem?

This also happens when I look at the page 29 at NEI, can anyone tell me which items are shown in that page? I can at least to disable the mod...

Updated: Also noticed that if I look at the page 75 at NEI (full screen mode), it crashes my game as well. Any ideas why this is happening? Anyone having the same problem?I really need help!

Unfortunately the error is a common problem with the new 1.6 packs they need around 2GB or ram now to work properly. You currently have a 32bit os and as such can only use 32bit java which only allows you to allocate 1GB of ram.

You could either switch to the FTB Lite 2 pack which is designed for 32bit os or upgrade your windows version to 64bit which will allow you to use 64bit java and allow you to allocate more ram.

If you do decide to upgrade then you want to have 4GB of ram or more for 64bit os.

Okay, I understood that, thanks for the explanation, I'm probably going to update to 64bit soon - I only have one question. I can play the modpack smoothly, around 100/130 FPS for the ammount of time I want, apparently, it only crashed when I look to that specific page at NEI/Creative Menu, I don't quite understand why that's memory related, althought I am the biggest noob about how Minecraft slash FTB modpacks works, so I might just be saying nonsense here. I thought that the problem was related to Rotary Craft, since the crashlog said something about a "DragonAPI". which I did a bit of research and discovered that it is used by RotaryCraft. So, the question is, is the problem really related entirely to memory? Sorry for the newbie behavior, by the way.

Yes the 1.6 packs are requiring 2GB of ram to function properly. You could try and disable some of the mods like Map Writer, which is know to use a lot of ram, Ars magicka 2, biomes 'o' plenty.

I would try the map writer first which is called Opis...Alpha.

Out of curiosity how much ram does your computer have?

I'm gonna try that, disabling some useless stuff should be fine, I guess. 4 GB RAM, but my Windows is 32 bit so, I guess that doesn't really matter does it?
By the way, any more suggestions on which mods to disable?

The ones I suggested like Map Writer, Ars Magicka, Thamcraft 4 and Biomes 'O' Plenty. Those mods all have world gen in them.

The FTB Lite 2 pack contains only a fraction of the mods that are in the Horizon pack. You might also want to turn the video settings as low as you can go as well and turn off particles etc.

Ahm, I disabled a couple of mods, and now, for some whatever reason the game closes itself in the Mojang logo, it doesn't even properly starts...
Here's the crashlog now: http://pastebin.com/2s9AuZ6g

Update: Disabled ReactorCraft and it started working again... Weird. Still with that same old error though.

When I said a couple of mods, I was refering to the ones you suggested, and it's not working still. Same old error. And, by the way, I don't really think I need to use FTB Lite 2, I mean, I played Unleashed (which has even more mords than Horizon, apperantly, I think) since it came out, and it runs smoothly in my pc, around 140/150 FPS, so I think I'm gonna stick with it for now.

No problem. Once you get your new os then try it again. If at all you decide sometime to get a new system make sure it comes with 64bit windows.
