Help with forestry rubber farm and automatic treetaps

I'm trying to use my large supply of EU to set up an automated rubber farm. I seem to have set the basics set up right: it's harvesting rubber wood just fine. The problem is that I'm not getting any sticky resin.

Here is a screen shot of my set-up:

So there are two things:

1)I have no idea at all how the automatic treetap works. The wiki says that it would drop the resin for the logger to pick up. This isn't happening. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is?

2) Do I need the diamond pipe in the picture above? I was assuming that the logger would pump saplings into the arboretum and I need the diamond pipe to filter them. That doesn't seem to be happening either

These old forestry farms are about to get deleted, you should upgrade them to the new ones.
Is the electric engine upgraded? Arboreum + logger take 1 Mj/tick each and the electric engine only produces 2 Mj without any circuit.

I believe the logger ejects sticky resin out of the top/bottom of the block so you will need pipes running from the top/bottom of the logger as well as the side

Then that renders all of this irrelevant, I suppose. How do I set up a new farm?

I knew that they were going to update the farms, but I couldn't find any information online or using NEI. So I just assumed they weren't implemented yet!

I do know that the tree tap needs more power then the other two blocks. It needs a chance to pull the resin out before the tree is cut down by the logger. Sengir has suggested using a dedicated engine on the tree tap. Though this is all outdated since the new multifarms.
