hi,
i am running a dw20 server (version 1.4.6 2013-01-18) on a linux machine and the ftb launcher v.1.2.2. with the latest dw-mp pack 1.4.6. on win7sp1.
just info:
the map is a vanilla map shrinked to the size where only our buildings are so that the dw server can generate new stuff. everything works fine and the new areas fit nearly to the vanilla areas. no strange things here.
problem: the server generates weird chunks where the ocean should be. these are fresh generated ocean chunks not old vanilla ones.

here you can see that the error is not the full chunk.

this is the view from the bottom of the ocean. the pillars are about 13-18 blocks high

what i've done to fix this issue:
searched the forum but couldn't find any helpfull advice.
loaded map in mcedit 0.1.6-64bit and deleted all the weird chunks. but then all new generated chunks will expand the error on all edges of the chunks. changed the chunks with vanilla chunks and repop them. doesn't work either. it overrides the vanilla chunks and generates them new. sure i can cut them off with mcedit but a flat ocean floor is not what i want.
is there anything i can do to change the generating of the chunks? found the nbt-explorer but i don't know if this will solve my issue.
any help is appreciated.
cheers

sorry for my english. i am from germany and try my best.

This one's fun. Basically ExtraBiomesXL has a biome that doesn't register properly. What you're seeing is supposed to be a Marsh biome. If you actually enter it though with debug output enabled (press F3) and walk through the area you will see it rapidly flip between Ocean and Plains.

The only thing you can do to sort this problem is to disable the Marsh biome entirely. The option to do this is in ExtraBiomesXL's config. If you do this beware that the sudden loss of an entire biome in the worldgen will cause all the others to shift around and you may see some sudden biome changes in any new chunks you generate. I happened to get Marsh at my spawn and when I disabled it every other biome in the spawn area was different.

Honestly I hope they just remove this biome as it's nothing but trouble for everybody and even if they fixed it it sucks anyway. :p
