Hi, I am very new to the whole server hosting thing so I looked around for a cheap decent site to host a server for my friends and I and I settled on Fluctis. So I signed up for 4 gigs of ram from them and I went to their minecraft panel and they had a easy install button for LITE but at first I wasn't able to connect to the server. Turned out it was using version 1.0.0 of the LITE mod and we really want to use the stable release version 1.2 of the mod. Can anyone walk me through how to upload FTB Infinity LITE 1.10.2 Version 1.2 to their servers?

Seeing as how each hosting company is a little different you should call their tech support. But basically you want to a program like WinSCP to copy files up to the server. Basic steps I would use:
  • Make sure the minecraft service is down (game isn't running on the server)
  • Normally at this point I make a backup of the game. If this is a world you care about make sure you do this step as well. I've lost count of how many times an update to pack went bad and I had to restore from backup and back date everything.
  • Rename or delete mods, config & scripts folders. I usually rename them by appending the version number on the end. This way I have an easy way to backout the update.
  • Use WinSCP or similar program to copy those folders (config, mods & scripts) from the server zip file that contains the updated pack.
  • Start the server up.
  • Watch the console text as the server comes up. You may need to type in /fml confirm to confirm the removal of blocks and items. This is pretty typical when a mod updates and it removes, changes or adds items to the game.
