[Help] Minecrack Modding

Ok, I want to add MystCraft and Redpower 2 to the MindCrack pack and am wondering if I need to do anything extra other than dropping them into the Mods Folder

Just to be extra safe, I recommend copying the config files for those too.

But that's strange, either there is a pack called "MineCrack", that I don't know of, or you are refering to the MindCrack pack, and that one does already contain RedPower 2.

I meant MindCrack pack. Am toggling between a few MC based sites and ended up combining subjects

MindCrack already has RedPower 2, and MystCraft is drag and drop with the previous version of MystCraft. As fat as the latest version goes, I am not sure as I am waiting for the FTB MindCrack pack to update a few other mods before I force my userbase to install it. It should just be drag and drop, but either way, make a full backup of your previous setup. Your best action, actually, would likely be to start using MultiMC so you can keep a standard FTB MindCrack build for updates. Good luck!

What does RP2 stand for then, in the mod you want? The common usage of the acronym is RedPower.

No, I don't think you don't need to do anything other than drop MystCraft into the Mods folder, although you should copy the config file as well. MindCrack already has RedPower 2, though.

EDIT: Copying the MystCraft config is probably a good idea though

Wouldn't RedPower be for 1.2.x or 1.3.x, and not for 1.4.x? I cannot see MindCrack using RedPower instead of RedPower2 for any logical reason, so, please, tell me why you believe it has RedPower as opposed to RedPower 2. Is there something specific that RedPower 2 has that the MindCrack pack does not? Thanks!

There is no such thing as RedPower (1), it was discontinued ages (2+ years) ago and didn't resemble the current RP in the slightest. The only currently existing mod called RedPower is RedPower 2, and it is included in both dw20 and Mindcrack packs.

RedPower and RedPower 2 are one and the same, and it's been called RedPower 2 since LONG before 1.2.x or 1.3.x. Eloraam added the "2" to it back in 2011 after significantly overhauling the mod. Minecraft was still in beta back then, so that was even before Minecraft 1.0.
