HI, i'm using DW20's Mod Pack v4. I've built a Mass fab and i do not want it to run unless it has scrap as amplifier!
the problem is that i can only insert scrap from the bottom, and the gate conditional (no amplifier=redstone signal) doesn't work properly.
I should put a cobblestone structure pipe on the bottom (with the gate conditional items in inventory=redstone signal) and things work fine, but then i can't insert scrap...
I'm using a RP2 sorting system, so BC pipes are not an option and i'd like to stick with RP2 (so no CC or turtles)
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!!

Both a Regulator and a Manager can output a redstone signal when their demand is satisfied. Use that signal to control when you let the massfab run.

Well, first of all thank you for the reply..
But the mass fab always runs, so i need a restone signal when there IS NOT scrap in the slot...if it emits a redstone signal when it is satisfied it'll end running only when there is no scrap...or maybe i didn't understand what you were trying to explain to me...

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Gold gates can detect inventory- so mount one on a structure pipe and set it to 'contains item: (insert scrap here) -> redstone signal off'
When theres no scrap, the gate will emit a signal and switch off the massfab.
(Forcium and emerald dusts also work as amplifiers now, you'll want some red pipe wire on it as well, with the logic 'contains item X -> red pipe signal' for each, and then 'red pipe signal on -> redstone signal off)

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately gold gate does not detect scrap in the machine...i cheated a diomond one and still no luck..i'm using a not gate to shut the mass fabb, then 2 cobblestone transport pipes withe red pipe wire..
the first gate is set as you said: Intems in inventory---red pipe signal, and the gate adjacent to the not gate is set to red pipe signal----redstone signal...
But unfortunately it doesn't recognize when there's scrap...

Gates have been changed to only recognize inventory slots on the sides they are attached to.

With a regulator or manager run the signal through a not gate to reverse it, though I do not know if the signal will affect the block they are facing or if they only output to the sides. It seemed to work that way for Direwolf in his SMP season 3.

Just place a relay under massfab and detect if the relay has scrap. You will "lose" up to 2 stacks of scrap (one in massfab, rest in inter-dimensional space between relay and massfab), but it is a lot easier solution if you really don't like BC item transportation.

Thank you, it finally works...I've set a not gate connected to the mass fab and 2 cobblestone transport pipes, with 2 iron gates..the one attached to the relay is items in inventory---red pipe signal, the the pther one connected to the not gate is red pipe signal----redstone signal...
The only little downside are the 2 stacks "lost" but it's really a mnor one!!!! Thanks again!!
