Hey all,

I am a re-noob. I played a lot of minecraft, and even modded minecraft for a while, left, and am now back. I am playing the Ultimate pack, with the default settings which I am guessing from my own world is with gregtech hard mode. I am good with that, but I am stuck in a loop, and researching what I need through NEI, and the internethas me believing I am going to have to cheat in items to get beyond?

I am wanting to create an induction smelter, which requires the invar ingots. In order to create the invar I must have an induction smelter, as I understand it. Is there an alternative? I read that you can create invar dust, but that is not correct either from what I understand on this pack, which also requires an induction smelter.

Any help would be great,

N

You can smelt invar blend in a regular furnace. 3 invar blend can be crafted from 2 iron dust and 1 ferrous (or nickel) dust.

Take 2 iron dust, and one ferrous dust
craft them on the crafting table to get 3 invar blend
Those are what you smelt into invar ingots for the induction smelter.
You can smelt them in things other then the induction smelter. Though with GT I can't be 100% sure this is true anymore.

(ah, help, I've been struck by ninjas)

I had no problem making invar blend in the crafting table and smelting it in a regular furnace and I have GT. (Actually it was nickel not ferrous dust in my case. It depends on what you use to grind the iron and what ore dictionary settings you have, but it amounts to the same thing.)

Ahh. I will try that. I was under the impression that you received the invar blend from the Induction furnace which you could then smelt into ingots through a regular furnace (which admittedly did not make sense, but...)

thank you,

He's rasping on the floor, Greg nerfed the air really bad. Only for him though.

You know, I never understood why greg didn't make it so you had to put redstone in the machines to fuel them and then you made a generator

I've never used gregtech so *shrug*
