I'm Phil, I'm a programmer by trade, have been since I was 9 years old, which was ... er... 35 years ago... yes, I'm an old fogey by most people's standards. I'm one of the founding members of the "gamer generation" - only slightly younger than the people that invented "gamer" as a social identity in the '70s. I first got into gaming through roleplaying games - D&D of course, then Traveller, RuneQuest, MERP, Cyberpunk, and more recently L5R. I've been playing computer games since the early days of the BBC Micro, which of course means Elite, Revs, Chuckie Egg, Castle Quest, etc. Other games I enjoy nowadays are Battlefield, Halo, World of Warcraft, Oolite, and Plants vs Zombies.
