Introduction first! I'm YouAreLovely and I mostly play single-player, but I occasionally like small, cozy servers. I love the experience of modded Minecraft, and hope to experience much more of it in the future.

So after watching so many YouTubers play FTB Infinity, I really want to play that pack. Unfortunately, my laptop is going to crap and barely runs vanilla. So I'm looking for a new laptop, and I've narrowed it down to two laptops. I'll give you guys the names of the laptops I'm considering, and I'll put the links up, but I understand that they won't show up till I'm approved. So it's between [Acer Laptop Aspire V3-572G-543S Intel Core i5 5200U (2.20GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD FHD NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M 15.6" Windows 8.1] or
[
Acer Laptop Aspire V5 V5-552P-X404 AMD A-Series A10-5757M (2.50GHz) 8GB Memory 1TB HDD AMD Radeon HD 8650G 15.6" Windows 8.1 64-Bit]

Here's the links to both: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314807

And then a link to comparison: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...#&percm=34-314-807:$$$$$$$;34-314-739:$$$$$$$

And then a link to the AMD vs Intel talk (that I can't make much sense of haha): http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/51...0-5757M_vs_Intel_Core_i5_Mobile_i5-5200U.html

Welcome!

As for the laptop, you may want to make a post in the tech thread. You are likely to get more feedback there. I cannot really say much as while I am comfortable talking about desktops, laptops are not my thing at all so I am near clueless. Only useful advice I can give would be to think about what else you will use this laptop for, like if all you do is game then stronger specs may be nice, but if you use it for let's say school work in class for hours at a time without a outlet nearby, battery life may overshadow pure gameing performance. Also, pure hardware specs are not all that matter, there can be (although at a glance the following should not apply to those laptops) weight, warranty, other games played than minecraft, USB ports, form factor, etc., etc.

Best of luck getting a good one, hope to see you around!

Okey doke! Thanks! I couldn't figure out where to put the thread, but I will definitely move my question over to there. But yes I would be using it for school work, but I can easily stay close to an outlet if necessary. As for other games, I don't really do anything other than Minecraft.
