Hard survival map.

I'm looking for a Hard survival map.

I got the urge from Modpack blast-off. So I thought that I could try it out, but wasn't able to start it. And it didn't download the map, so I thought perhaps there was a biome that could created a post apocalyptic/dark dessert map.

neither extrabiomes nor biomes o plenty had any similar biome. Then I just tried to create a huge single dessert biome, and I wast able to get to work.

So is there somehow I can get an hard survival map? no mod pack or anything that set a path, as I like to use my own mods, and I find that most hard maps have annoying mechanics. I still find fun mods the modpacks that i take, and start the Oblivion habit by modding the game so it breaks and then spending hours on trying to get it stable just to play it for a few min.

If you're looking for "hard" as in "you will die multiple times", the closest thing that I know of is Crash Landings. However, I'm not entirely sure what you're looking for. If you want a map to go with your own mod set, you'll probably have to take a Vanilla map and slap your own mods on top of it (which may not work well) or build it yourself.

If all you want is a "dark desert" world, you could pull that off with Mystcraft or RFTools. Both can give you a dimension with a single biome that's constantly night- use [Desert Biome] [Single Biome] [Standard Terrain] [Dark Sun] for Mystcraft, along with some other feature pages and whatnot so you don't get random things you don't want; or [Biome Desert] [Terrain Normal/Standard/whatever it's called] [Time Night] for the latter, as well as a whole bunch of [... None] dimlets to suppress the random features.

I want a biome similar to Blast-off.

I tried to create a single dessert biome when I wasn't able to find anything good, but wasn't able to create just one dessert biome.
