So I recently got back into minecraft again after probably a year long hiatus. Got a new base going, everything going swell, but I didn't have any cactus. So I set out in search of a desert. No luck to the southeast, so I decide to head west and north a bit. Then I run, somehow, into a Mushroom Island. Separated from mainland by a river. ONLY 1000 BLOCKS FROM SPAWN. Like, I never get these in vanilla, so I'm super stoked. So I start exploring.

I thought I had seen big when I first discovered the ocean.
I thought I had seen big when I first planted a Sacred Rubber Tree.

Nothing could have prepared me for the massive scale of this Mushroom Island.

Island? No.

Continent.

It took me nearly an hour and a half to fully map this thing.

I hate to say it, but I see this all the time. It used to be a big problem in some older packs, where you'd get inexplicable out of control mushroom biomes. I still get them and I cannot explain why.

If I have a new world and I see mushroom biome, sometimes I just quit/restart because I know I'll probably have stupid amounts of them everywhere.

That's a seriously massive village in the infested area, though. If you've got Carpenter's Blocks installed, you could make that look all moldy

Yeah, found out that biomes o plenty do that to oceans if it's set to default world gen. Went ahead and disabled it, glad to know that for the future.
