Hey guys!

I was thinking about something: GregTech makes it really hard/challenging/nice to archive your goal to produce energy, by creating the matter fabricator. It'll take you a lot of time and effort to produce those iridium plates, which can then be used to create more crazy machines to increase the speed of which you are creating UU-Matter.

But for what? All it does is adding big numbers/many zeros. What are you going to use all the energy for? Is there some kind of machine I missed/didn't consider? I can't really think of any reason to ever go trough the pain of building a fusion reactor - because there is no way on earth I'm ever using up all that energy.

tl;dr: GregTech helps you to create ridiculous amounts of energy. What are you using the energy for / what can it be used for?

PS: This is not a let's-hate-on-GregTech-thread. Don't turn it into one.

A simple search would have answered this for you I'm sure (inb4 the "I searched gregtech and it wasn't first result!)

Greg said he has plans to make a gregtech dimension that requires fusion power to access.

It's not so much a 'single machine' that the power is used for, but I make assembly lines for the more time consuming/repetitive processes, such as advanced machine blocks, carbon plates, coal to diamonds, etc. One or two of these lines doesn't suck down energy, but as I've expanded, I've realized I keep having to upgrade my power grid

No, it was more of a "let's see what the other guys are using their power for, maybe I can copy/use someones idea in my world!". I'm so sorry that I was trying to start a discussion on a forum.

Let's not consider the possibility of your underlying question having an answer. Why put the question in in the first place if you knew the answer? If you didn't why not just search? Simple forum basics..

a GraviChest is a pretty expensive, end game machine. You also have to charge it with energy. Might be what you are looking for.

Some ideas;
MFFS complexes
Legitimately-built adventure/puzzle areas
Giant monuments
Bigger base
UUM
More UUM
Automated mining (not really necessary with the amount of UMM you should be getting at this point, though)

Honestly, though, it's more a question of what you want to do for your end-game.

Make cables, tons of them, and the IC2 lights, and light your entire base using EU.

What, it doesn't take much per light, but with cable loss and the lights always being on, that could cost quite a bit of EU each tick.

Watermills were pretty much designed for luminators.
