Gregtech Load Time? A Binnie's mods question

I got GT6 in the DW20 pack, plus some other mods added.

Was wondering what is a normal load time for a pack with GT in it? Mine takes around 7ish minutes.

Are there any other mods that in conjunction with GT may force the long load times?

The long load time doesn't bother me perse, unless the client crashes, which it rarely does.

Is there any mod (besides EE3) that adds an alternative way of getting different resources?

yeah gregtech load speeds are ABSURDLY slow. *insert curses of his code being very slow*

Alternative way of getting resouces? Buildcraft,Extra Utilities...

Gtech takes a while to load because of all its assets/recipes ect. Greg's optomised it the best he can, and it physically can't load any faster without reworking parts of the Forge API [something to do with how Forge handles/loads recipes]. (source: GT dev thread)
First run with Gtech also takes a bit longer than normal- because Gtech dynamically generates a lot of config files and recipes ect. Second run should go quicker

Google "farmable ores mod" and pick your fancy.

Unless you mean mods that are already in the pack, which are basically nothing but the ones mentioned above.

Though Botania's Orechid and MFR's Mining Laser might do the trick.

Gotcha. I liked bee breeding and the way about getting stuff like oil and gelid cryotheum and things like that.
