GregTech Advanced Pump

Can somebody please detail what exactly one needs to do to get the GregTech Advanced Pump to actually start pumping?

I've got it hooked up to the correct power supply and it's getting the right amount of EU. I have mining pipe in the correct slot as well. The actual pump head has extended down to my water level but for the life of me I can't get it to actually start pumping anything! I've tried hooking up Liquiduct to it and even tried Golden Waterproof Pipe all to no avail.

What am I missing here?

That's why instructional pics or vids should always be in the default textures. I can't tell what half of that stuff is either.

Supply it with mining pipes.

connect liquiducts to get the liquid out.

Simple as that. But there's little purpose now in 1.5, since lava auto clears itself better.

though it is extremely fast, and can use EU, plus has a longer range.

I'm guessing the GT pump, fibre cables, liquiducts, geo thermals, liquid tesseract, chunkloader, a lever, mystcraft book stand and book and netherrack and netherbrick
