My girlfriend is having a lot of trouble running the new Direwolf update and she says she can play it fine for a little bit but after awhile ti just crashes because apparently her computer can't handle it. Does anyone know if there's a way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Her version of java very out of date. Remove and old versions then reboot the pc. Now download and install the latest x86 version from here.
The system only has 32bit windows installed and as such she will not be able to play most of the new packs because they are requiring a minumum of 2GB of memory and 32bit windows will only allow 1GB of memory.
You have 3 options available.
1. Upgrade to a 64bit os so that she will be able to allocate more memory to the launcher.
2. Remove some of the mods and try to get it to run.
3. Play the FTB Lite 2 pack that is designed to play on 32bit systems.
She needs to update to Java 7.
Also, she will have issues running the new DW20 pack because she has a 32 bit system, and they need more RAM than 32 bit Java can allow
