Geothermal Generator- What am I doing wrong?

Here is my simple setup here-

It worked for a couple minutes, then stopped. It doesn't appear that the lava or water has been used up, so what am I doing wrong?

It doesn't take water.

Also I assume the EU has somewhere to go (batbox/MFE/machine using power, otherwise they switch off to save fuel)

Why do you have water going into the generator? Try taking the water pipe off

Oh, wow. One of my friends told me it needed water. Thats what I get for not doing my research... Thanks guys.
