Does gendustry make alvearies obsolete? Like, don't get me wrong. Taking away all the PITA that extrabees adds is great.

I'm just more so wondering if extrabees becomes obsolete, aside from adding all the other bees. That and making energy-less alvearies in the late game, but take up a f--- ton of room.

The machines are a bit of a PITA
That was done quite on purpose to not entirely trivialise beebreeding. But its still 1000 times easier than doing the old fashion bee breeding like Sengir designed it in Forestry(the semi realistic approach).

Well, that was the way I've always done it. Now it's jsut waste of time, rather than a fun indulgence into strategic breeding. My strategies are solid, so it's just a matter of time really.

I am just asking, as a veteran bee breeder, whether gendustry totally replaces extra bees, in terms of genetics.

Alvearies can :

Have max lifespan on every bee
Have max prod for every bee
Insta kill a bee with frames

It depends on how you feel like doing things. Gendustry allows you to have more compact builds that are self automated and have a high energy cost. Alvearies are larger, require you to put a bit of structure to automate, and are harder to build, but have no power requirements.

So if you have the energy infrastructure, the answer to your question is yes. Alvearies are excessively complicated to build when you have Gendustry to simplify everything bee related.
