So I've done the whole nether lava thing to death now and I wanted a fun basic MJ power system. I was thinking Biofuel but it's not really interesting so does anyone have suggestions?

Biofuel can be intresting if you go the MFR route for it.

You could build a mob reactor if you have soul shards. Whiter skeltons or Blazes give coal/rods which you can use as fuel and if done right 1 teir 5 can out put a unending stream of them.

RP2 has the BE engine... yeah its not going to be small or efficent but you can makes some intresting builds with it.

I always wondered about using RP2 BE engines but never really gone through with it which is a shame since as far as I know that route is pretty cheap also the MFR biofuel seems interesting but I never thought about that.

Fuel-rod like towers of combustion engines. If you want to set up a whole power plant, then you could always automate a standard bioplant by using a couple of t5 skelly spawners for bonemeal, and then have a wheat grower/harvester going to the things that make stuff. I can't remember the names. You know what I mean, they come from forestry.

I did some silly stuff with the BE engine. Yeah it is not the best but it work fairly well for MJ power. You just need a sizable sorce of BE. So like a lot of solars or a wind farm. here like me find my thread on it.

Start off with 4 peat-fired engines (manual farm), and make boilers that run on peat.
If you have GT, get a mob farm (zombie dungeon/MFR auto-spawner on cows is awesome) and massively produce methane. Dump it all into a boiler and you'll power your base on fart gas.

That's a good idea but I don't think I'm at a point where I can get that but I should be get there soon if I focus on it.

that does sound like a good idea though as a backup power source plus having a steady supply of BE will be useful when I start making machines that use that.

BTW That windmill setup you made looks awesome.

Wouldn't a beatbog be a easier long time solution since I don't have to use fertilizer and I hate searching for that stuff.

Unless you're playing Ultimate, a peat bog would be better indeed.
However, in 1.5.2 they don't exist anymore - and by manual farm I mean when you plant and harvest it without it being automatizated.
Fucking Multiblock farms...

Good thing I play ultimate since I tried the whole manual peat bog and I hated it mostly do to me and digging in water don't go well together.
