Fun Nether Challenge

This is a challenge where you are given limited materials and you are supposed to survive in the nether for as long as possible.
How to Play
Give yourself 64 grass, a full set of wood tools, leather armor, 2 water buckets and a furnace. Give yourself the necessary materials to go to the nether and survive. This game is supposed to be played on HARDCORE mode, so have fun with that. Be aware that there are lots of things you will not be able to have because of being in the nether. Like cactus or sugar cane.
Mods
Use any mods you want but make sure you have PowerCrystal Core, Nether Ores, and Natura.

I recommend using the 152 pack that already includes natura and powercrystal core and then add nether ores.

Tips
find a bloodwood tree.
don't mine ores around pigmen
collect all the mushrooms and make stew for food.
don't die
Remember that with twilight forest and natura, there are additional dimensions you can travel too to farm and mine. Though living in the the other dimensions permanently is not in the spirit of the challenge.

Dude, simple enough, just make a little house in the nether, with no portal back, and all teh stuff in said house.
Then make a world download, and/or do a let's play of it

What with natura and nether ores, it would be perfectly possible nowadays to have a pretty good existence in the nether, and it would be easy to get lava power. (By good existence I do not mean an easy one )

I am using my own version of the Resonant Rise Modpack, with some additions, removals and modifications (Important ones are no Dartcraft, added Greg's infinite water nerf, and have vowed to only use the igneous extruder to generate cobble, and it costs one lava and one water to do so.)
I might give a more exact list of mods and changes later, if people want it.

Also, unfortunately, I'm not hardcore enough to use hardcore. There's just too many chances for stupid bullshit to happen when I play Minecraft. I will, however, try to log all of my deaths.

Okay, so for a nether start, this isn't all that bad. I started in an undergarden, which is a godsend, and the bones will be useful as well.

In vanilla minecraft, I get a horrendous pang of fear whenever I hear a bat. Thaumcraft has traumatised me.

Also, I miiiight have arrived at a bit of a snag in progression... It's not enough for me to cheat in items just yet, but it's definitely a conundrum...
I need cobblestone for furnaces, and there seems to be no way possible to create cobble in the nether without first having some kind of furnace...

No wood or tools because I keep dying in lava. (I seriously got knocked into a lava pool by a nitro creeper as my first death. WELCOME TO FUCKING HELL, BITCH!)
Fucking Hell.
No cobblestone, so I can't smelt any ores even if I DID mine them, which would be fucking retarded because zombie pigmen would own me.
Mother Fucking Hell.

This is fucking hell.

Well... After those initial misteps into hell, I'm making some progress.
I'm far from thriving, but I'm surviving, at least;

Just my little hole in the nether, complete with full Tinker's Construct assortment (this would be practically impossible without that mod...) a double chest, and I even have some basic agriculture in the back there! (A dark corner filled with mushrooms, as well as some nether berry bushes in a hole I dug out for them)

Also, I've determined a solution to the cobblestone problem; If no better, legitimate way arises, then whenever I manage to achieve 8 minium shards I will set minium stones to temporarily have 16 uses each, and use NEI to 'convert' them into a minium stone.

Also, should I make a new thread for this?

You are supposed to give yourself a furnace in the beginning.

Finally, my furnace has been EARNED!

Progress is being made!
After I made my furnace, I used three durability on the minium stone to make 3 nether quartz dust (using NEI) so I could make a grind stone:

I see this as acceptable use of it, considering how bloody hard it was to get...

And I also used it to make sand, with the cobble coming from flint from some gravel I found outside, and now;

I am very happy right now.
Now, I just need some kind of automated mining, and I'm set... I'm debating if making a mining well powered by a clockwork engine might be worth the resources... I doubt it, though.

Either my natura is extremely outdated, or something else adds the usable wood and bones. With my natura, all of the trees make unique planks and sticks that are absolutely useless for anything not specifically made of that material. Basically I can make a blue bookshelf, but not a bed. The natura I'm using royally sucks. This wood is completely useless.

EDIT: Biomes o plenty is giving you an upper hand. You can use tinkers construct, have bones, and you have wood that can actually make useful things. Excuse me while I install BOP.

Also, just died for what I've decided to be the final time, and probably around the fiftieth as well.
I'm going back to normal play... This idea has potential, and I think everyone should try it at least once, but it's not for me.

I can think of one way, but it involves gregtech and the industrial grinder...
I suppose if you had power converters and ic2, you could hook up some geothermal's and convert that to mj, but it would be much less efficient.
I'm thinking of playing this, but I would definitely not do it hardcore because I would probably die 5 minutes in and then my fun would be over

Make your spawnpoint in the Overworld on an obsidian pressure plate that is on any solid block with a command block underneath with the command:

/tpx @p -1

For clarity, the setup will be like so:

[-P-] Pressure plate
[-B-]Any opaque block
[-C-] Command block

Yo0u cannot spawn on a command block. The game won't let you. That's why you need the block in between. You can stand on the block and do /spawnpoint to set your spawn there. Of course this is all assuming that cheatmode is enabled, so you can't really do it very easily in hardcore mode.

Nether ores spawns nether ferrous ore, as well as basically every other non-GT ore in the game (Except iridium, that at least exists in-game, though I haven't found any)

Also, pulverizers can grind netherrack into cobblestone, and can get nickel (ferrous dust) from iron ore.
