FTB update won't download with java 7

I'm running java 7 (v 1.7 64-bit) and when I go to update FTB when it asks to update it will do nothing. Just sit there and never download no matter how long I leave it, I have to go into the task manager and force close it.

But, if I downgrade to java 6 it downloads just fine but the game runs a bit slugishly.

Is there something wrong with my Java? Or how can I get it to download with Java 7, instead of having to keep uninstalling and reinstalling java to update?

No it's a PC

Try downloading the 32x bit java to see if that helps.

I have 32x bit and 64x bit Java 7, by accident, but its running just fine.

If you have a 32 bit system running 64 bit Java, that could be your problem
