FTB Unleashed - some bee Combo's wont mutate

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this one. Basically there are some bee combinations that just refuse to mutate (even using nova frames). This is on a server and I suspect it has something to do with either MCPC+ or one of the grief protection plugins we are running. The strange thing is that it is only some combo's that don't seem to work.

For example Cultivated+common wont mutate. meadows+forest wont give you common but jungle+forest works fine. Tested the same version/config settings in single player and it works fine.

I believe we are running:

• Griefprevention
• Herochat
• Essentials
• MCPC+
• Threadticking

I can get version numbers if it helps. Fairly sure it is one of the server plugins but the only way I can think of to test is to run the server with no plugins and then add them back in one at a time which is a massive pain for the poor server admin guy.

We have a number of players that are interested in the bee's but this problem makes it (and therefore also tree breeding) pretty unplayable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
