hi guys

i just started playing feed the beast today, i switched over from tekkit

me and a few friends (3 in total) were playing on our server but we got very bad lagg

so i did a little research and someone suggested reinstalling 64bit java (my computer is 64bit)

so i did that but it seem to mess everything up

the FTB launcher wouldnt work but after uninstalling the java it worked again

but the server start will not open

i click it to open it flashes open then goes again very quickly

i have opened the Command window by itself fine but the server cmd will not open

have do i fix?

thanks

dan

i tested my tekkit to see if that had the same issue and i get this error there

i'm not looking to fix that here but the first 3 lines on the above picture is what i see when the FTB launcher flashes and disappears

i fixed it, i just needed a new copy of java

that wasnt from the java website filehippo saved me haha

the server is still very laggy

i noticed on the CMD when it was loading the server its set to 512mb min and 1g max

but i have it set to 2gig min 4gig max in the files

how do i fix that and will it fix the laggy

it was never this laggy for me before FTB

ok i figured out how to changed that and now it reads correctly

but its still laggy

i have all the settings right now and its still very laggy

i have no idea what is causing it any ideas?

i loaded my tekkit server back up and it runs fine on minimum settings

is there anything i can do to make feed the beast run smoother?

is it resource heavy?

single player is smoother but still not great

the problem with your java install is that it didn't add itself to your system path
see http://java.com/en/download/help/path.xml

FTB is vary hard on systems compared to vanilla, I have never used tekket so I cant compare.

you will want to look at this thread especially if you are running the server and client on the same computer
http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/server-lag.2501/

if you want any specific help you will need to post your system specs

I also added this mod to my server, it lets you measure server performance
http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1548779-146-ticks-per-second-v0411/
if you are having fps lag you may want to add optifine

thanks for the reply

i will check out those links in the morning (2.15am currently)

but i will leave my laptop specs now

its a Acer Aspire 5755G (Gaming Laptop)
