So I'm using the iron planter from Progressive automation with the iron hoes and everything correct. My only issue is that it says it has a range of 9 but will only harvest the wheat in a 3x3 area. Is this a bug or do I need to upgrade my planter?

The range numbers in Progressive Automation are not width/length but the actual number of fields. So if you have a range of 9, it will harvest in the nearest 9 fields. So you need to upgrade quite a bit to get all your crops harvested :p
