Fancy terminology but I forgot what it's called.

SO. I switched from Unleashed to Monster. Why? MOBS KEEP WALKING THROUGH DOORS AND FENCES! I got fed up with 1.5.2 and went to 1.6.4..I hate kid zombies, but, I will deal with it.

So I also hated the "normal" ore generation. I was finding no diamonds in between 12 and 5, but lots of lava. No diamonds, no diamond pickaxe, cannot mine obsidian..ugh.

So I modified the COFH world gen config..too many diamonds now generate.

So I am trying now to regenerate the chunks, using the "retroactive generation" thingie...but I cannot get the diamonds to DECREASE. I am trying to get a near equal generation of all vanilla ores(redstone, iron, gold, diamonds, etc)..but it doesn't seem to regen the chunks. Even if I close out the game.

So how do I MAKE it go back through and 'reset' the ores in the chunk that's already been developed on? Do I need to restart my world entirely? That worked last time..

This is a weird issue. Never before have I heard of one having "too many diamonds", but this seems like a easy enough way to make ithappen. Retro-generation doesn't remove things that have already spawned; rather, it replaces stone with the selected ores(or generates things where they belong if they aren't a ore). Hence why using Retro-Generation is not advised unless you are adding a mod to your game after you started a map(and in this case, it would only work correctly if there are zero diamonds anywhere in the ground).

The reason I had too many diamonds was because I was spawning them from layers 50 down to 5, and made..large clusters, numerous ones. Like 20 size clusters, 20 number of clusters, that sorta thing.

Also, a fellow SERGAL! *shakes paw*

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I often end up with about a hundred things in my feed a day.

I'd rather a Neural Handshake, but I don't know if we're drift compatible...

Solution ICBM, install and use the regeneration missiles on the chunks you want to regenerate :D Problem solved, thanks (?

omg icbm is the solution for almost anything going on in this forums lately xD

Just goes to show; if brute force isn't working, you aren't using enough!

Oh gosh you all are insane :D But I don't feel like just spawning ICBM's randomly..

Nah I edited my world gen some more and remade the same world(recreated), and now I'm getting plenty of everything.
So RetroGen is "if there is new ores"..mostly. seems that way; I could not for the life of me get the old stone to become diamond/redstone/gold etc.

also..drift compatible? O_o i've never done a neural handshake..

Technically insanity means to do the same thing over and over again and expect different results.. Which means you are the insane here and we are the enlightened ones :D
