FTB Mage Quest blood magic

I have played with blood magic before and I like it, I love the mudpack because I love minecraft magic mods and hardcore questing mudpack. but my question is that what do I do after I get the apprentice blood orb, when I get it, it says that I completed that quest line, I know it asks in the quest description on the right side if I will use it for hurting myself or hurting others for blood. i am confused on what i need to do next.

its referring to pick a power route , u can either build your self an altar with a self sacrifice specialization (how tier one went but u can make the altar so much more efficient with the health u offer it ) or u can choose to make the altar specialized towards sacrifice ,taking other mobs lives/(and later on health) to get the altar filled (the book is referring to the stuff in the altar as blood). the tool you need for the sacrifice route is normally called the sacrificial dagger

So if I build a rune of self sacrifice or the tune that boost the amount of blood I get fro sacrificing others I will advance?

to advance u just need any of the runes, to advance with a stronger altar u need the other runes , which is currently runes of self sacrifice(help with self sacrifice yields)or runes of sacrifice (helps with harvesting mobs for blood),(there is runes of speed that work but they just speed up the altar recipes) more rune types will unlock after u get later orbs but the other rune types are thing for a different time
