Whenever it asks me if i want to update i click the yes button and it closes out of the launcher an never opens it back. When I re launch it it asks me if I want to update again. Please help!

In the folder you've placed the launcher in should there be a folder named updatetemp.
In this folder you'll find another launcher file, move this one to where the original launcher file is located and overwrite the original launcher file.
Your launcher should now be updated and the bug causing it to be unable to update itself is fixed so you won't have to do this again in the future :)
