Hi!

I got the urge to play me some minecraft after a few months' break, and decided to make myself a fresh new world with all the updates since the last time I played. So I went ahead and deleted my minecraft folder and my .minecraft folder and the downloaded the latest launcher on the FTB homepage (1.2.4).

I then tried to select the latest recommended version of Mindcrack and launch it. This is where the problem starts. For some reason, the download bar appears but gets completely stuck on initial startup. I left it like that for 10 minutes and still no change.

What's going on here? Is the server down or something?

Please follow these instructions:
Please follow these steps exactly: http://desk.feed-the-beast.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/9/0/basic-troubleshooting
This is to rule out any issues with your setup.

Allright, did a completely fresh install as per the instructions of the post above. Same deal, unfortunately. As the entire process stops at the "Downloading modpack, please wait" phase of launching the game, I had to cancel the download window to gain access to the logs. The process stops at the "[20:54:51] [INFO] DownloadUtils.getCreeperhostLink:68: http://www.creeperrepo.net/direct/FTB2/6b20c7bb9ef736788c6921a621a0d262/modpacks^MindCrack^8_3_2^MindCrack_Client.zip" event in the log, the rest of the information is from after I have canceled the download window.

Some of you might say i should just let the download keep going, but I have 20/20 broadband here, it isn't downloading anything, it just stops before a single file has been downloaded. This has never been an issue before, I played the game fine a few months back...

Edit: I've tried

here are the logs:

Minimal
Extended
Debug

EDIT: It was my antivirus' fault. Somehow I missed that tidbit in the install instructions above. If anyone is having the same problems as I have had, and they have AVG antivirus installed, please do the following:

- Open your AVG antivirus from the system tray.
- Click on the 'Tools' tab and select 'Advanced Settings...'
- Scroll down in the leftmost portion of the window that pops up and find 'Temporarily disable AVG Protection'
- Activate the temp disable and install your modpack.
