When I first heard about the FTB Infinity Expert mode from a friend, it sounded awesome. I was only told a part of what it was, however, and they left out the extra difficulty (I know, I should have assumed it). They just told me that the recipes from mods interacted with each other. I didn't want the extra difficulty side of it, as I'm not a huge modded Minecraft player, but I loved the idea of the recipes from mods having ingredients from other mods.

My question/request is does/should an FTB Infinity Expert-like mode exist(s), where the recipes do this, but is not extra difficult?

The added difficulty is only due to the changed recipes. You could play this pack on expert mode on peaceful, and it would still be hard because of the hard coded mod interactions necessary to progression.

There is no hunger overhaul, no depreciated ores, no infernal mobs, just recipies that have been altered and sectioned off. That was the appeal of this mod pack's expert mode.

Sorry!

I realize that, but the recipes themselves are very difficult. I want a recipe interaction that makes you use other mods, but the recipes themselves aren't made hugely more difficult.

There isn't a way to do that as far as I'm aware. Those recipe changes are exactly why it's called expert mode. Otherwise it's just infinity.

This was asked for a few times, easier expert mode recipies.

It was called expert mode for a reason. The recipies are not that hard, but you are forced to use certain mods that normally don't get used (anymore *cough*IC2*cough*). The hardest part is the waiting for things to process.

What it boils down to is this:
Expert mode was for folks to wanted a challenge different than the usual hunger/mobs.
The mod interaction was used to force you to progress down all the main mods tech trees at approximately the same pace.
Since the mod pack is no longer being worked on, the "easier" hard mode will not happen.

If you really think this needs to happen, feel free to use the tweaker programs out there and make one yourself!
