FTB Infinity Evolved: Transportation Options/Vehicles?

Hey all,

Somewhat new to minecraft mods, but I played with industrialcraft and redpower about a million years ago.

Very much enjoying Infinity Evolved, however, as I experienced the last time I played with mods, I find myself increasingly tethered to my home base and the machines contained therein. I like to explore, and I haven't really found anything in the way of transportation options that will allow me to explore farther from my base without making my machines inconveniently far away. All I have currently is my industrialcraft jetpack, which doesn't really get you anywhere faster than normal.

Since I'm totally unfamiliar with the features of 90% of the mods in this pack, I'm hoping that one of you fine gentlemen can let me know whether any such features exist in any of them. Some kind of flying vehicle would be great, especially one which requires fuel.

If there isn't anything like that, is it easy to add additional mods on top of a FTB pack and is there one any of you could recommend?

My option for especially early game, but useful till late game, is the OpenBlocks Hang-glider. If you already have a jetpack, you can save a ton on fuel allowing you to cover a much wider range.prior to jetpacks, they also make the world more traversable while looking for a suitable location for base.

It's not a part of the pack by default, but a mod exists that adds planes and helicopters. I don't remember what it was called now, but I recall it being in the Trident pack. I'm sure someone will fill in my blank.

Wow. Flan's mod looks amazing.

Going to have to try and get their newest 1.7.10 version working with infinity. Have never tried to add another mod alongside a pack though. Is it relatively straightforward?

Relatively, but flans mod is special, so make sure you read it's specific installation instructions.
