Hey guys,

so I have an issue with blaze spawner

it is the up-left grey building. As you can see I am at home but no blaze are spawning. They only spawn when I am standing next to it. Is this normal or is there some setting I need to change so they are able to spawn even when I am further from it?

Vanilla spawners only ever spawn when you are within a short range.
There are some tricks you can do to get them to spawn when you are not near. Think placing Cursed earth under it is one. Various mods also have various attachments you can put on them to power/alter/whatever the spawners to do it.

Ah, then Ill search for something. I have got one mobfarm with cursed earth and it's awesome but I want this one only on blazes. Maybe Ill find something.

What I have preferred to do in the past is to have cursed earth farms make MFR Mob essence(with Grinders) and then use the Mob essence to spawn specific mobs(Like Blazes) when I needed them.
 
I agree with rhn on this one. A single piece of Cursed Earth under the Spawner will force it to spawn regardless of player presence. The downside is, Blaze spawn regardless of light level, so there is no good way (outside a magnum torch) to turn it off, should you want to.

It ends up being more useful to use the Cursed Earth farm to collect mob essence, then use the essence to spawn Blaze when required.

Other advantages of this setup include the fact that Mob Essence and LiquidXP are oreDict, so you can use this system to charge an EnderIO Obelisk with XP (might have to pipe it through a MFR Unifier, I forget).
 
answering your question first , vanilla spawners only spawn mobs when a player is nearby. chunk loaders won't affect vanilla spawners.

i don't suggest the MFR mob farm with the auto-spawner+mob essence , unless you have a lot of power generation.
blaze per spawn is 930mb of mob essence. and if you kill them you get 666mb of mob essence. so you need 2 kills per mob. if you want something efficient grab a big slime with the safari reusable and on the auto-spawner do exact copy which the grinder will kill the big slime turning them to small ones and so on until there's none of them left and yes they all count as different kills with the same amount of mob essence. so 1 big slime can give you enough essence to spawn at least 8 or 9 blaze. that's just a tip or have a regular vanilla spawn somewhere and go hang there couple times and wait till you get some mob essence. also the auto-spawner requires at least 400rf/t to work regular speed with not exact copy of the mob. if you use exact copy of the mob it will take at least 270 ticks and more energy leaving you with no energy buffer in the machine.

my current setup is 3 potion generators from extrautilities running with speed potions splash II which produces 160rf/t per potion for 50 seconds.

If you use a Cursed Earth farm being culled by a MFR Grinder, you can have WAY more Mob Essence than you will feasibly use to spswn anything. If you divert a portion of said Mob Essence into a TE Reactant Dynamo along with some gunpowder that the same farm will also provide, the system is self sustaining. If upgraded, you can actually net positive power generation from this system. It was the backbone of my power system when I was playing Infinity up until I discovered the self sustaining BR Turbine.

Using this method, I powered two outlying bases by burning Blaze Rods in 8x Survival Generators. I also spawned witches for potions to use in Potion Generators. There is a ton of power gen available from mob drops if you put your mind to it.

true all you said , unless the modpack you're playing on has everything buffed up. i play my own modpack with my own recipes and everything that produces more than 40rf/t i changed the recipe to be more expensive to make it somewhat challenging to make rather than starting the game and straight into steam dynamo with some coal and water producing 80rf/t , in my mod pack the begging power gen is the pink generator and survival generator everything else needs either forestry to make the recipes or buildcraft lasers just like infinity the only difference is that to make the buildcraft or forestry machines you need to go to the end first ;)

I agree that my observations and tinkering is dependant on the pack you're playing. However, the thread title did clearly state the pack. Outside of that, your milage may vary, but unmodified XU alone allows for very powerful RF gen using only mob farming.

true as far as infinity goes , i wouldn't go with cursed earth , infinity is already for a med end computers and throwing a mob farm with constant mob spawns will make the fps drop , at least the mfr auto spawner has a work tick
 
With a little thought, making a Cursed Earth farm that doesn't run constantly and/or kill your framerate is easy enough. Some Redstone Lamps (or any other variant) can provide togglable light to stop spawning when it is not needed. Within a pack such as Infinity, this can be easily be automated (BuildCraft gates come to mind) to only allow spawning in your farm when the level of Mob Essence in a tank is below a desired threshold.

Really, your farm for anything below full scale power generation can be quite minimal in footprint. I only mentioned my power gen system to prove that it is possible to make a self sustaining system (or more, if you have the will). That said, the server we had the Mob Essence power system set up on was not particularly strong (run piggybacking off the computer of my friend, who played regularly), and we didn't have a huge impact on playability until we had a good deal of tech in the area as well as the farm itself.

I'll not dismiss the fact that entity count and AI do contribute highly to performance loss, but a simple 5x5 Cursed Earth dark room with a MFR Grinder or equivalent is not nearly as hard on a server as that same amount of space filled with machines ticking away. As with all things, moderation is the key.
