FTB eating up all of my memory

Details of the issue:
I told FTB to only access 2GB of my 8GB, yet the thing manages to take it all over time. It takes up to 4GB, while my computer takes the other 4GB, leaving nothing left.
Is there a memory leak going on with FTB, and a way to reload without having to completely close out FTB to free up all the memory it used?

Please help. Thanks in advance.​

A log would be relevant in this case. Also make sure it's actually set to 2gb.

Which launcher are you using?

Are you using a server as well? Put 2-4gb just to the client. then 2gb to the Server. Then that could leave you with 2 - 4gb to windows. I know windows 7 uses 1.75 - 2gb of ram at all times usually. Hope that helps
