FTB Crashes Unexpectedly a short time in

Details of the issue:
I launch minecraft and begin playing but a short time after, the game freezes for a short time and crashes to desktop. This occurred within a few hours of playing time in the world. The world is an older save and could be made before the transition into FTB Infinity Evolved, but had shown no sign of crashes or instability. I have Opti-fine and Shaders mod instaled, so hopefully that is not the issue.​
 
It appears that Optifine was causing a crash related to Tinker's Construct Smelteries. Removing it had solved the problem.
