All I’m going to say on that one is this: no one from the FTB team, at ANY point, advertised, suggested or implied that it would be the next iteration of Infinity Evolved. The hype was built up out of nothing, to unachievable levels, by the community, who have since then reacted with anger that the pack doesn’t meet the standards that no-one involved promised.
Yes, it has its flaws, and plenty of them. It’s worthy of criticism. But judge it on its own merits and detriments, instead of those based on an older pack that it could not have been equal to.
I might also add that the amount of hostility and impatience around its release date was frankly disgusting, and while I don’t believe that in any way influenced the team to release it before it was ready in their eyes, it is worth bearing in mind that some things are worth waiting for, and that kind of pressure can only put developers off ever getting involved in the process again.
