FTB app won't work for Linux

So I am a bit lost: if I try to start FTBApp it seems to start (you can see the process), then dies and won't show any kind of error.

There is an error.log created in the directory, there I can see what happened

I did install SLF4J just in case, but no dice...

BTW, not only this failure is all I know about the app, but my favourite laptop has freeBSD which is not supported, no Linux distro can package it and make it easy to adquire (even if it worked). I already feel this has been a lot of work put into a severe downgrade. This application is not OS agnostic anymore and I have the feeling it is buggy and poorly supported. I just hope I can still keep using the old launcher, even if I can't play updated mods anymore
