When i launch the app, it appears in task manager but never opens. I uninstalled and reinstalled many times. One weird thing I see is that all the files give the date I installed them, but the FTB app itself says last modified on july 16th. The first time I ever downloaded it, it launched but itll never work again even after reinstalls. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks

Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.
Try one more fresh install - first make sure you have proper backup of your worlds, then after you've uninstall the app from programs and features in the control panel - also remove these folders:
In %appdata% (windows key + r and type %appdata% and press OK)
FTBA
ftb-app
Also check if there's a folder called .ftba under
c:\users\YOURUSERNAME
Remove that .ftba folder as well
Then do the new installation of the FTB app
