Details of the issue:

I have a pretty beefy laptop, Its a ASUS G750 JS Laptop and i can't seem to get more than 20 fps on FTB Infinity, I have done nothing in my world really ( just a wood house with some chests and furnaces) And i still cant manage to get over 30 fps, The log is from a 10-15 minute mining session as that was all i could take with this terrible lag. I can play ARMA 3, other extremely graphic/processor intensive games but can't handle modded minecraft? Video settings are fast, 4 render distance, 60 fps max, smooth lightning off, no 3d, no biewbob, max brightness, minimal particals, and vsync on.

first: first try it without vsync
second: make sure minecraft doesn't use your integrated GPU
third: try it with no max on th fps (I know it sounds ridiculous but on my computer it helps, a lot)
fourth:make sure you have at most 4 GB allocated to minecraft
fifth thing, performance of other games tells "nothing" about the performance of minecraft as the requirements are most of the time on other parts of your system (most other games need a faster GPU then CPU while minecraft needs a fast CPU)

Also, if you are playing single player, try using another older PC/Laptop to host a server. Single player can really bog down the machine because it spawns a server and the client on the same machine.
