Hello,
I've been having some odd issues with the FTB packs for awhile and have not been able to pin it down, its FPS related issue in that I seem to be either locked to 30FPS most of the time or 40FPS.
For whatever reason today it started running between 80-115FPS and everything was smooth after recreating a world from another, I provided to check a few of my worlds which I had created to see good spawn points and eachone remained in the high FPS. I proceeded to then shutdown minecraft/ftb and restart the game to check if this was some kind of flunk as I had not been able to get the high FPS and again it restarted and started off at 30-40FPS.
I've not been able to replicate the result of having 80-115FPS again, I know its possible otherwise it wouldn't have hit those levels so I'm trying to figure out what is preventing it reaching those levels again, clearly its capable of doing so.
Rig:
Windows 7 64bit
I5 2.7ghz quad core
8gig of RAM
Nvidia GTX 660 2gig
250gig main harddrive which has the OS on and a 750gig 2nd with a 1gig external.
Java seems to be the 64bit version with version update 25.
I have assigned between 2gig to 4gig of ram on the launcher and have not had any difference in the FPS level, just seems to be stuck.
In the ingame graphics options I've enabled max fps, turned view range from far to normal and back again, turned off particles, clouds and see very minor FPS change if any. openGL is off and I have tried both fast and fancy for graphics aswell as texture packs on and off to the result of getting the same 30-40fps. I've also set vsync off and that has had no change on it either.
This is all in a new world and given atleast 4-5mins loading of the world around me and when chunks are loading the fps obviously drops but as noted above it was capable of running 80-115fps all of sudden so I don't think my rig is having issues otherwise that FPS wouldn't have shown up via F3 information panel.
http://pastebin.com/W18irG1w - debugged mode log of client.
I have followed the usual FAQ steps which get posted in other threads and removed FTB completely from both roaming and the desktop, also removed and reinstalled java to ensure it was on the right version to to no avail or change and have also checked system temperature to see if it was overheat issues causing FPS drop.
I have also ran and tried out optifine to see no change in FPS results and the above of FTB unleashed running at 80-115fps was running without optifine so its clearly capable of doing it without optifine.
I did note memory usage was 60% and used memory was 1.5gig when the FPS was high aswell.
I would appreciate any pointers or suggestions to try and sort the issue out, I consider myself tech savvy enough to sort computer issues but this one is alluding me quite considerably and on other games I'm not having FPS drops.
