When I attempt to read new posts in a thread, the forum considers that I have read every post that exists in that thread. Not the posts actually read.
Consider a thread that has three pages of unread posts. Lets say I read the first page, and don't notice that there are more unread posts after that page.
On the minecraft forums, the next time I go to read unread posts, I will start from the second page.
On these forums, the next time I go to read unread posts, I will start from the middle of the third page, whatever was new from the last time I read the thread.
