Ok, I'm playing with the new forestry farms (finding them much more interesting that their predecessors), and am looking to automate it fully, so, when the levels of an item are high enough, AE triggers a wireless redstone frequency to stop it producing that item (currently set up for rubber, wheat, cactus and reeds).

All well and good, except that I find that the control blocks on each side of the farm don't seem to be stopping the farm as they should. I make another one and put it on top, with a lever directly, and it works just fine, similarly, putting a lever on the side blocks seems to do the trick, but when I put the transmitter there, it doesn't register, even when the transmitter activates redstone dust (not gotten around to redpower alloys in this playthrough just yet), and it doesn't have any effect.

Am I missing something about the farm blocks, or is this setup bugged?

You probably have the receiver backwards. They power the block the dish is pointed at (they do not power the block they sit on)

Yup, used wireless redstone before, it's lighting the redstone dust up just fine, and the red wire side is pointing in the right direction, it just doesn't seem to be doing anything.

The main problem is that farm control connects to redstone like redstone (http://i.imgur.com/Gs6EdPv.png). If it is cornered it will seem that it should power this block, but it isn't.

This is not powering farm control block. The same problem can be seen in some other mods (RC, BC, FZ, IC2 Xycraft and more). Everyone wants to connect to redstone like RedPower does, but fail at it (with notable exception of IC2 nuclear control). Just power it like you would normally power block with redstone (warning, dot may also don't work correctly), so either by straight redstone line pointing at block, or by powering block above. Red alloy wire only works, because it weekly powers blocks surrounding wire, not because mod decided to connect to it, vanilla redstone receivers except repeater don't connect to redstone.

Well, if the control block works with a lever, and the wireless works in general it must be the interface between them

I'm cooking up some red alloy wire, see if that'll do the job. It seems to work better than the vanilla stuff, and I'd been meaning to add RP2 to my crafting system.

Edit: Right, after a bit of experimentation, it looks like the Wireless redstone stuff cannot power these block unaided, and redstone (or red alloy wire) cannot power them when the wiring is on a corner. Also, they cannot be powered by placing powered restone or red alloy wire on top of the block, it must be attached in a straight line.

Very odd.
