Hi everyone.
I'm setting up a new FTB server which will include the forestry mod and the bees that comes with it. However, I would like to remove some bee species from the game have noticed that the apiculture.conf file have a blacklist option that could help me with that.
But I cannot for the life of me find the UID of the bees that I want to black list. I used several keywords in my numerous google search. I tried many in-game items/block.
I even tried black listing some random number without ever seemingly ever black listing anything...
All I could find are forum topic where someone complains about X bee and that Y user mention the possibility to black list bees.
I'm sorry if the answer was in my face all this time. I'm sorry if this was asked time and time again before and that I somehow missed it. But at this point I'm desperate for help.
Can anyone tell me how I can find the UID of a specific bee ?

You have no idea what kind of server I have in mind and have no idea what I'm going for... But thank you for sharing your uninformed opinion anyways. I guess that my server is definitively not for you so feel free to not join it.

But this topic is not about "should we or should we not black list bee". It's about how to use the black listing feature effectively.

Now can anyone help me with that ?

I actually found a way to see the UID of bees. I can now black list bees without issues. The following is to help someone who may stubble upon this thread with the same problem and would be interested in knowing the solution I came up with.

First, place the bee(s) in question in your inventory (it might help to remove everything else). Then close the game.

Second, find and install a minecraft NTB editor.( I use NBTedit).

Third, use it to open your player file in "MinecraftFolder"/saves/"WorldName"/players/"YourName".dat

Replace what is in between " " to what is relevant to you.

4th, access the Tag/Genome/Chromosomes section and then the first entry from there. it should contain UID0 and UID1 which are listing the 2 types of your bee.
The string of text beside UID0 and/or UID1 is what you must use in the forestry config file.

Forestry seems to use "forestry.speciesName" format where the name usually match in game name.

Extra bees seems to use "extrabees.species.name" format where the name can be completely different than the in game one.

Side Note: It seems that it's impossible to black list the starting bees (those you can find in worldgen hives). But if you need to go that far you might need to consider removing forestry all together at that point.
