Force relay and moving mana

I'm trying to get mana from my production area to a loonium, which is some distance away . Not keen on using the train, so I'm trying the Force Relay but not getting anywhere with it.

I have a full mana pool with a Spreader fitted with a Bore Warp lens, and in front of that is a Force Relay. A few blocks way, and out of direct line of fire, I have a block of stone. I bind the Force Relay to the Stone by right-clicking on each with a Wand of the Forest in Function mode (changing to Bind mode doesn't seem to make a difference), and hearing the clear "ping". I then place an empty Mana Pool in front of the Stone, but nothing happens. So I break the Stone and put a empty Mana Pool where it was. Still nothing.

(BTW - Manaseer's Monocle shows a sparkly line going from the Spreader in a straight line through the Force Relay block and ending a fuzzy illuminated sphere about a dozen blocks away, which I interpret as "that's where it would normally be going".)

I've read several Reddit threads and watched a few vids on it, but I still can't get the mana burst to change direction at the Force Relay and go to the target block. What am I doing wrong?


Edit: Changing to a Pulse Spreader and pulsing it with a button does show the expected change of direction, but the line is red, and no mana is transferred.

So, I've had a quick look, and this might help if you haven't read it.

I think the bore warp lens is normally used for mining, and you don't need that just to transfer mana; the warp lens should do it. However, according to this, the Warp Lens burst cannot be transferred to spreaders or pools once it's been teleported...!

TL;DR, I don't think you can transfer mana long-distance in the way you intend BUT, I'm not experienced in Botania, so I may be wrong!
