What is everyone's favorite mod? I am curious to know if people like tech or magic or both or none.

My favorite is Thermal Expansion.

If I at the present moment have to cut it down to a single favourite mod...(which is an impossible task), it would probably be NEI. Maybe Forge Microblocks/Carpenter's coming in close.

There are a lot of other mods that hold favourite positions in each their category, but overall mod that I would not do without.

Leaning toward thaumcraft, although Botania and Blood magic are giving it a very good fight

I don't have a clear favorite contend adding mod, actually prefer mixing them up from time to time.
But I would definitely not play without NEI.

Computercraft because I can make it do whatever I want whenever I want, well that is if I have the time do program those things......

In terms of content and always having something to do, I'd say Thermal Expansion/Botania.
In terms of building, I'd have to say either Chisel 2 or Carpenter's Blocks.

and he replied with 3 meaning he can not choose or they are his favorite mods for certain situations.

Thaumcraft. The reason being its ingenious gameplay, its balance and its aesthetic appeal.

Thaumcraft 4, just too much polish to ignore, plus it has a tonne of addons to enrich the experience.

Also out of the tech mods while I don't utilize it that much, RotaryCraft has to be one of my favorite tech mods. Not so much becasue it's fun but becasue it really tries to respect your intelligence, very little of it's dumbed down, has minimal hand holding and really needs a player to use that old grey gunk residing in your head. It's also got a great effort vs reward ratio, even to the point where it might be a tad OP.
That being said I do find tech mods to be a bit boring, not bad but means to an end sort of stuff not worth getting excited about.

AE2 wins for me by miles... It has so many useful applications from storage to almost fully automating crafting and processsing minerals.

While large AE systems are indeed impressive and fun to build, I feel like AE is not very useful on its own. You have to combine it with other mods to make the most out of it.
