just curious what people like to do for their power generation

1.4.7 i used biofuel engines from forestry for MJ and geothermals from IC for EU

1.5.2 same as above then found atomic science and and did fusion reactor plant for both MJ and EU

1.6.4 im hoping to go a bit cheaper with boilers from rail craft and steam turbines attached to them from atomic science and universal cable from mek

For 1.5.2 I used force engines with crushed ice and liquid force for MJ production and nukes for EU production

in 1.6.4 RR I am using factorization solar boilers to power some thermal expansion steam dynamos for RF and MJ production and a combination of nuclear power and geothermals for EU with the geos used more for satellite installations like my farms and things like the sludge boiler.

just start toying around with the new 1.6.4 pack on the launcher. so for it looks like useing waterfall is promissing, even better with the mod integration in rotorycraft for buildcraft. we can now build actual functioning dams for our power needs if we like. only spent an hour or so in a test world but it looks great so far

(These are only my main, most memorable worlds (usually the ones that resulted in friend-making; the best part about Multiplayer Minecraft))
Ultimate; I used Thermal Generators with a Nether Pump until I had enough stuff for a bunch (hundreds) if Ultra Hybrids, and a Nuclear Reactor that produced about 1000EU/t, most of this was just powering my GT machine room. For Blutricity (I used it for all of my automated smelting) I just made a bunch of solars. For MJ I used Combustion Engines running off of some Fuel from Oil Bees thanks to a friend on the server.

1.5.2:
StaffCraft; I used a Cactus Farm testing out MFR for the first time, and loving it a lot. I used the Harvester, dumping sugar canes into an Automatic Crafting Table MK2, and used Railcraft for dumping the sugar into Coke Ovens, and then dumping the Sugar Coke into coke ovens one more time. All of this went into a ton of IC2 Generators for my power. I didn't ever actually get to use these generators, but hey, it was tons of fun to set up :D

Custom Modpack (current); We are using a couple HP Boiler run off of a treefarm and a bunch of Advanced Solar Generators from Mekanism. We use Ender Chests and Railcraft to dump the Charcoal into the boilers. We use MFR for the treefarm, and cows for sewage.

I spent a lot of time playing UHS2, so there wasn't any power, just lots of death :p

RotaryCraft does indeed have some nice-looking machines ! I love how the hydrogenerators (water wheels) are animated. In my previous world, I lined up two of them horizontally (same rotation) and they drove a Compressor to convert to BC MJ. It didn't take many of those 3-block combos to reach the 100 MJ/t mark.

My current power for 1.6.4 is primarily TE3 Steam Dynamos fed by a chardcoal-fired 36HP plus some steam from a Factorization solar boiler setup. Power expansion is slated to be bred Forestry trees for biofuel (Ethanol) into 36HP or directly into TE3 Compression Dynamos.
