A new mod, Factory Tech, just came out today. It, like Botania, seems to be intended to be possible to 100% automate without any other mods. Unlike any other tech mods, though, this one comes with a unique snag: machines need maintenance, which means that you must put a new part in the machine from time to time.

I've managed to make an automated river grate, with the only inputs being sticks (about 1 every minute on average).

Simply set up the autocrafting unit as shown in image 1, provide 10 extra sticks, and it'll craft two wooden meshes and put them in the dropper.

When the machine's mesh breaks, two things happen: it (sometimes) places 4 sticks in the crate next to it (seen in image 2), and the comparator next to it turns on. The comparator triggers the dropper, which is places above a set of transport rollers that leads the mesh into an insertion hatch, which places it in the grate.

Every 10-ish seconds, a hopper clock triggers two stack movers, taking one stack of materials from the grate and putting it in a second crate, and one stack of sticks (should only be 4 or 0) from the stick crate and placing it in a hopper (inventory seen in image 6). A second comparator then activates a stack mover item elevator to return the sticks to the input.

tl;dr: This machine takes sticks, and gives iron, copper, and nickel nuggets.

So, what can you make with just this mod and vanilla?

After some testing, I managed to simplify it a bit. V2 and V2.5 are in the imgur album linked in the first post, and here's the results after 10 minutes of waiting around.

Yeah, just over 3 ingots every 5 minutes. Not incredibly exciting, but for the low, low cost of 6 sticks net loss over the 10 minute period, it's a good "Fill and forget" machine.
