Dear Fellow FTB'ers,

Atm I'm trying to reconfigure my base's power supply from relying fully on a peat farm + blaze spawner to adding a liquid fueled HP boiler.

Additionally, I want to use a sawmill setup for additional fuel for my solid fueled boiler. As it stands I'm using RP2 pneumatic tubes to send wood, apples, and saplings into several barrels.

What I'd like to know is what the easiest way to extract wood & saplings from the barrels is. Wood needs to go to my sawmills (4 of them) and the saplings to my fermenters (3x). I've tried several things (filter, retriever) yet neither will pull items from a barrel.

Any ideas welcome here.

Bel*.

Retrievers will pull from barrels but you have to extract from the bottom of the barrels, not the top or sides.

You could use any of a number of systems to pull from barrels.
Wooden pipes with engines or gates.
Filters connected to a timer.
Or my prefered method, sorting machines. Far faster than a wooden pipe and much less laggy than a filter/timer combo.
And vScourge is correct. You will have to place them on the bottom of your barrels.

Install Logistics pipe then you can use a provider module on the top of a barrel and it will provide items. Have not tested this with an extractor module.

Don't forget too that the heat value of blaze rods has been drastically lowered in the latest version of railcraft.
