Hi all

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I couldn't find anywhere more appropriate. I'm building a nuclear reactor, out of curiosity. I have a lot of resources to work with, so to start, I built a room ( with Iridium-reinforced tungstensteel. To test it, I put some ITNT in it, armed it, and closed the door (basically more shielding with sticky pistons). However, some of the explosion leaked out and destroyed some blocks. The blast shielding, as expected, was fine, but nevertheless, clearly the explosion leaked out some. I tried this twice with the same results.

So my question is: would a nuclear explosion be entirely contained by my blast shielding, or will I have to take extra precautions? Obviously, any other suggestions would be appreciated. Unfortunately I haven't found any information on blast leakage elsewhere.

I'm using FTB Ultimate on a singleplayer game.

I have a new observation, which is odd, but could help. The damage outside of the blast shielding occurred where there was a corner. The damage doesn't occur when, instead of closing the door, I fill in the gap that the door covers. Again, the door is merely more shielding covering the opening. This, of course, just raises the question of how to get in and out without using a reinforced door, which would only provide partial protection.

The corners will always leak, so don't have any empty corners.
Two blocks thick, and fill the corners.

As for getting in and out, teleporter? That wand from thaumcraft that lets you pass through things?

If you are willing to make the wall 3 thick, the exit passage can have two doors with a hallway going around the corner inside of the wall before the second door.

I don't have any empty corners, that was never an issue. There's not much point in having it more than one block thick, that'll just make everything more inconvenient and it's perfectly fine at keeping blasts contained if there are no empty corners.

I considered a teleporter, but it would be destroyed in any explosion. Maybe I'm being finicky with the whole thing, but I'm looking for a more elegant solution, like the equivalent of a blast door. My current method is to use two sticky pistons- one to move the block to the side and another to move it in. That contains any explosions fine and allows me to get in.

I'll find a better way to handle it. There are a lot of mods available, so there's bound to be something. I'll definitely consider your options.

Thanks
