I have been looking for information on this mod to try to figure out how to convert MJ to EU, or what the purpose of RF (Redstone Flux) is for. I am originally from FTB Unleashed/Unlimited so RF is entirely new to me.

I am trying to use a single energy source and convert it to other forms as needed.

So I put down an MJ storage device and the main Engineers Toolbox item right next to it. Of course with the energy input module on the same side as MJ storage device, and output on opposite side. I then put the pipe for energy and then the EU block which stores some RF in it. In my head i should be able to take EU out of that block now and store it into say an MFSU. I try connecting the energy pipe used earlier to put RF into the EU conversion like block, and it doesn't connect to the MFSU. I tried then to put a fiber cable to connect the MFSU input to the EU block and its not transferring power. I don't remember the cables needing power but i tried hooking up an engine and it still did not work.

Overall I want to have a compact way of converting MJ to other forms as needed. I am used to being able to build better Solar Panels but the basic 1 eu/t solar panels are just useless. Likewise the solar panels for this mod produce RF, and I don't know how to convert it. I don't want to build anything that takes up a good amount of space such as a nuclear reactor, or a huge area of geothermal generators to make my EU.

As for this mod in general, I wish It could store items like a chest (All in one side of the block, and different items, not just 1 item per face). Maybe in future a module to add chest space would be nice. So that we can store specific item types in a more organized manner than say M.E Storage on discs and just having tons of random items in an unorganized manner and having to type the name of everything to get what we want.

1) TE uses Redstone Flux, Engineers toolbox along with a few other MJ mods moved over to that power API when it came out.
2) One way to turn RF into MJ is to have any TE energy conduit between the producer and the consumer. So have 1 leadstone, hardened, or redstone energy conduit between your power and your MJ device.
3) Another way, which will still take a block space is use the MJ Adapter for MJ power, really the best option is the energy conduits.
4) For EU use the EU Adapter.
5) I am not sure, you would need to experiment but you may either have to apply a redstone signal or whack the adapters with a wrench to get them to work. I would suggest a creative flat world to test quickly.
6) I doubt there will every be a chest style module to store many items, the inventories are internal after all. I believe this would be getting even more into the 'magic block' territory.
7) For your power needs, if you are near a river...try hydroelectric turbines, I had about 10 running my entire base last playthrough. This includes AE system, 8 Laser assembly table and various MFR machines. It would also charge up my TE Energy cells so I could have on demand power for quarries and other needs.

In closing, ET can provide all your power needs since TE energy conduits automatically convert RF to MJ and there is the EU Adapter to supply EU to your IC2 machines as well. Also I beleive the EU Adapter outputs 128EU/t don't quote me...test it before you hook it up!

That's all I have for tonight. I keep promising to do a full on ET Power Generation Tutorial, maybe tomorrow.
