Hi All

Apologies if these questions are noobish and/or have been answered already but I'm struggling to find any solid answers out there.

I have recently started to run a Minecraft server running the DW20 1.7.10 pack. As the server admin there are a couple of things I would like alter to help improve/control server performance.

1) Prevent new world from being generated. i.e. I will set a map large enough for the number of players on the servers and I want to stop players from creating ever increasing maps, wandering off on their own to find fresh land. I'm sure this must be a common request but I wonder what options are available to me with the latest DW20 pack. Do I need to install additional mods or are there options in the pack already?

2) Reduce the number of mobs that spawn, particularly squids! We are running survival so I obviously don't want to remove hostile mobs altogether but I'm concerned that the number of mobs is having a negative affect on the server. I notice that the server can be very slow espically when there are lots of mobs and for some reason mobs like squids seem to spawn in very large packs. Is there a way to drastically reduce the numbers of mobs/animals that spawn?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice you can give me.

1. Tinkers Contruct has a config option for this.
2. I don't know. Maybe you can look for a server-side mod for that.
Large number of natrually spawned mobs shouldn't be that much of a problem since there is a cap. And just because there are many squids in one spot doesn't mean there are equally many in other areas. Actually the spawn cap for squids is quite low, but they tend to spawn in large packs.

Thank you for you reply that's interesting that tinkers has a config option. I've had a quick look and seen the section ...
"ultra hardcore changes" {
B:"Add World Border"=false
I:"World Border Radius"=1000
}

Is the radius circular? Would it remove land outside the border or just create an barrier you cant get past? Anyone actually used this feature got any comments on its usefulness?
