It's a minor bug with an interaction between Embers and Tinker's Construct in 1.12.2. The inflictor gem can be applied to the Ashen Cloak with a string in order to apply the resistance effect based on the gem's attunement to it, and when you perform this crafting operation in a tinker's construct workbench, the output is given and the ingredients are not consumed, they simply remain in the workbench. It looked like a visual bug at first because left alone you still can't craft again but simply clicking on the table's grid will allow you to craft again.
