Im used to using buildcraft pipes to do my sorting but I really like the look of the item ducts and there base functionality.

Is there any sorting mechanism in TE that I could use to throw away the dirt, stone, gravel from a quarry and route the coal mined back into the steam dynamos?

Or will it be one part of my world that is forever buildcraft?

Thanks all

Itemducts with Pneumatic Servos installed (Just right-click the duct collar with the servo in hand and right-click with an empty hand to configure it.)

Itemducts have white/black lists that can even take NBT data or Metadata, or both, into account.

Right clicking a segment of the pipes with a crescent hammer/battlewrench/Flux Infused Battblewrench/Fluxed Infused Omniwrench will set it to either dense or vacuum mode. If the segment is the extracting pipe, it gets one more option, and that is round robin. Each segment of the pipe can be upgraded with Pneumatic Servos like what Nanolathe said.

Quarries an ducts are incompatible. Querries have no ISideInventory. To prevent the popping out just put a chest on the quarry and hook the duct to the chest.

Thanks :)

Next question. Double chests, do you need a item duck hooked up to both halves? Or should it treat it as one inventory?

From my experiments its treats it as two locations so you need a duct in both parts.

Vanilla double chests need two ducts, one for each half.

It's down to bad coding in vanilla, but it's actually a useful behavior in some builds.

Suppose I could upgrade to the Strongboxes :)

What im wanting to create is a system where ore goes into one area and dirt/stone goes into a processing room where its converted into the various compressed blocks brought in by extra utilities it should be possible using the schematic table and that autocraft thingy in te :)

If you have factorization, look at it's Packager. It's designed to auto craft any materials is receives into either the 2x2 or 3x3 pattern, if one exists. Be an easier and more compact build, you just need to filter one type of resource per Packager.

No we don't have that, were running a modded FTB Lite server, with some extra bits, notably, Mystcraft, Thaumcraft, Galacticraft, Tinkertable, and ModPowerSuits. oh and biomes a plenty

Not so lite now with those mods then :p

Another option, again, if you have it, is the Builcraft Autocrafting table (the crafting table surrounded by 4 wooden cogs), it's slow, but does the job.

:) Not really :) Its been a lot of fun working out how they go together. Just wish FTB would do an official pack with Galacticraft.

I believe what Golrith means is the "Lite" part of FTB Lite refers to the computational horsepower needed for the modpack. Most of the mods you have added require a relatively high computer resource investment.
